Simmons' Apology

I want to make this statement about my views on depression for the record and to clarify my prior remarks.
To the extent my comments reported by the media speak of depression, I was wrong and in the spur of the moment made remarks that in hindsight were made without regard for those who truly suffer the struggles of depression. I sincerely apologize to those who were offended by my comments. I recognize that depression is very serious and very sad when it happens to anyone, especially loved ones. I deeply support and am empathetic to anyone suffering from any disease, especially depression.
I have never sugarcoated my feelings regarding drug use and alcoholics. Somewhere along the line, my intention of speaking in very directly and perhaps politically incorrectly about drug use and alcoholics has been misconstrued as vile commentary on depression. Unkind statements about depression was certainly never my intention. Fully, you will know that and I do not intend to defend myself here and now, by listing the myriad charities and self-help organizations I am involved with. Rather, I simply want to be clear that my heart goes out to anyone suffering from depression and I deeply regret any offhand remarks in the heat of an interview that might have suggested otherwise.

シモンズは、Songfacts.comのインタビューで「俺はヤク中や、暗雲を漂わせ自分らのこと犠牲者だって考えているような奴とはいい関係なんて築かない。ヤク中やアル中はいつだって“世界は苛酷な場所だ”って思っているだろ。俺の母親はナチの強制収容所にいたことがある。“世界は苛酷だ”なんてたわ言聞きたくねえんだよ。うちの母親は毎日、いまを楽しみ人生を愛している。それがアホどもは、20歳の野郎が“鬱だ。シアトルに住んでる”なんてこと言うんだろ。バカ野郎、だったら死ね」「俺にはわかんねえよ。そんなのハッタリだって思っているからな。ビルの屋上で“もう終わりだ。もうたくさんだ。飛び降りる”とか言ってる奴には、俺は“飛び降りろ！”って言うよ。冗談なのか？なんで宣言するんだ？黙れ。威厳を持って飛び降りろ！観客がいるだろ。」と話した。
シモンズの発言は先月なされたものだが、先週、うつ病の治療を受けていた俳優のロビン・ウィリアムズが自ら命を絶ったことで注目され、物議を醸していた。
シモンズは金曜日（8月15日）、「鬱に対する俺の考えをきちんと説明し、先の発言についてはっきりさせたい。」とFacebookにメッセージを掲載した。
「メディアが伝えた鬱に対する俺のコメントにおいて、俺は間違っていた。とっさに出たあの発言は結果的に、真に鬱に悩まされている人達への配慮がなされていなかった。俺の発言により気分を害した人達へ心から謝罪する。誰かが、とくに愛している人達が鬱になったとき、それがとても深刻でとても悲しいことなのは認識している。俺はどんな病であれ、とくに鬱に苦しむ人達を切実に支援するし共感もする。俺はこれまで薬物使用やアルコール中毒に対する不快感を隠してこなかった。薬物使用やアルコール中毒について率直に、ひょっとしたら偏見を持ちつつ話そうとしたことが、鬱への恥ずべき発言と解釈されてしまった。決して、鬱に関して思いやりのない発言をしようとしたわけじゃない。俺が関与する数多くの慈善活動や自助グループを並べれば、俺がにわかにここで自己弁護しようとしているわけじゃないのはわかってもらえるだろう。ただ、俺が鬱に悩む人達のことを思い、違う意味に解釈されたであろうインタビューでの配慮に欠ける発言について深く後悔していることをきちんと伝えておきたい。」

KISS's new compilation, "Kiss 40", sold around 7,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 30 on The Billboard 200 chart. And Australia #31 Switzerland #53.
6月4日に発売されたデビュー40周年記念ベスト・アルバム「キッス40」の本国における発売第1週の売れ行きは、約7,200枚でビルボード・チャートの第30位だったそうです。また、オーストラリアでは第31位、スイスは第53位だったそうです。

訃報

Kenny Kerner, the producer who acted as an early advocate for Kiss and co-produced the band’s first two albums with his production partner Richie Wise, has reportedly passed away due to complications from diabetes.
Kerner's son seems to have confirmed the news of his death, which was lamented in a Facebook post from the band that reads, "We are shocked to hear of Kenny Kerner's passing."

And he says the project would be much more like his first – 1978's Paul Stanley.

In a greatly anticipated one-off collaboration, former KISS drummer Peter Criss joined metal icon Rob Zombie onstage last night (May 10) in New Jersey.
Zombie and his band were on hand to perform at the 93.3 WMMR Barbeque in Camden when, near the end of their set, they were joined by the Catman to perform the KISS classic, ‘God of Thunder.’
Zombie said. “So tonight, it is our great honor to bring to you the one and only Catman, Mr. Peter Criss.”
去る5月10日、米ニュージャージーで行われたロブ・ゾンビのコンサートに元キッスのドラマー、ピーター・クリスがゲスト出演し、一緒にキッスの「雷神」を演奏しました。ロブ・ゾンビは、観客にピーターを次の様に紹介しました。「レディース＆ジェントルメン、もしおまえたちがオレみたいな奴だったら、この前は、すごく落胆したと思う。ロックの殿堂をチェックしたのに、オレの大好きなドラマーがドラムの後ろにいる姿を見ることはできなかっからだ。だから今夜、唯一無二のキャットマン、ミスター・ピーター・クリスをここに迎えることができ、ものすごく光栄だ。」　ステージに登場したピーター自身はメイクなしだったが、ゾンビを除くほかのメンバーはピーター・クリスに敬意を表しキャットマンのマスクを着け曲をプレイしました。
